The Lungomare and the Fashion File

Buongiorno a tutti!! We’re just a day away from winging our way home to Toronto and on to London, Ontario.  So this will conclude our postings from Italy on the Suzanna e Vincenzo Travel Blog 2024.   We have had just a marvellous time this year in Italy.  In fact, it has been almost like a 2nd honeymoon.  So many romantic moments and so much fun.  It has just been terrific!!!! We have been having so much fun observing people and places on our trip this year.  We thought that we would end our posts with a kind of collage of the Lungomare in Salerno.  Why?  Because, as a place, it is very beautiful and, as such, attracts all sorts of people in all sorts of dress - some of it absolutely beautiful and some of it, well, not so much.  So here we go with a slew of our favourite pics… Looking southwards from the point where the Lungomare begins Looking in the opposite direction northwards  …Some beautiful seaside architecture along the way… Head...

How to Live in Italy

  Buongiorno! We’re coming quickly to an end of our fabulous time in Italy.  You know that our first 2 weeks were really like a vacation - touring around to several different historical sites and  exploring new cities, towns and villages.  But the last 4 weeks we have tried just to settle into one place, Salerno, and to just “live” like a local.  So, Vincenzo and I thought it would be fun to show you a few of the things that are part of the normal day-to-day routine. What’s more routine than having to do the groceries?  The busy professional must certainly go to the local supermercato.  Everything you need is under one roof.  They’re very much like a North American supermarket, but with a few important differences. Here’s the bread department at our local.  There’s every kind of bun, loaf , and cracker you can think of.  All unpackaged and in different bins.  But don’t think you can just just pick any of it up and take it to the cas...
