Buongiorno a tutti!
This is a short message to say that Susanna e Vincenzo have finished up their language training weeks at L’Accademie Italiano!
Here are the lucky graduates with their wonderful instructor, Andreina.
Proud instructor and very pleased students!
It also happened to be International Womens’ Day, also known in Italy as “Festival delle Donne”. It is a tradition here, that small bouquets of mimosa be given to women, to honour their contribution to Italian life, culture and the economy. The picture below captures all of the woman of the school after they have been presented with their mimosa bouquet. How nice!!! They even included one of our classmates, Eliska, by Zoom - see her on the screen in the background?
I don’t know what it’s like in your family, but in mine, there was always a celebration after the big ceremony. So here we are below, at a lovely seaside ristorante celebrating our success with “cuoppo”, another dish that is native to Salerno - balls of rice and cheese (very similar to arancini balls),or shrimp, calamari, etc that are then deep fried and, in this case, served with buffalo mozzarella!
Mmmmmmm!
Here’s a view of the sea from the patio
Next post will cover our day trip to Minori and Ravello, two small villages on the Amalfi Coast.
Ciao for now!
Susanna e Vincenzo (i studenti eccezionale - hahahahahaha!).
